Academic and Financial Aid Appeal
Over the past two semesters, I have faced a series of challenges that have profoundly affected my academic performance.
First, a major unexpected issue occurred when my family faced financial difficulties. My father lost his job unexpectedly due to the company downsizing, and my mother, who was already working part-time, had to transition to a full-time position to try to compensate for the loss. Everyone else tried to chip in whenever and however they could just to keep the family from falling behind on bills. Our family was totally caught off guard by this sudden change, and even I found myself trying pick up more hours so that I could help my parents out in this difficult situation. In addition to my full course, I was very much bursting at the seams in terms of pushing myself to the limit. The unforeseen financial struggles became a heavy burden that ate away at the time I previously dedicated to studying.
Then, during the fall semester, another situation arose when a very close childhood friend of mine back home began to struggle with severe mental health issues. My friend was hit hard with depression and anxiety,...

Discipline in Public Schools: Recent Court Cases "From 1969 to 1975, amid increasing legal challenges to the regulation of student expression in school, the Court's rulings largely confirmed students' rights to various free expression and due process protections" (Arum & Priess 2009). In Goss et al. v. Lopez et al. The U.S. Supreme Court decided that public school students do have a right to due process. In the case, a student
Academic Freedom Professors have been accused in recent years of indoctrinating rather than educating, of failing to provide balanced perspectives on controversial issues, of creating a hostile learning environment for conservative or religious students, and of injecting irrelevant political asides into class discussion and as such the statement is ostensibly meant to address the very real issues surrounding faculty classroom conduct that have arisen of late (O'Connor). This is a very positive feature of the university that sets it apart from other facilities. I see the path to choosing my major as an experience that will build my self-esteem and allows me to understand a lot more about myself. Of all the personal development options available at the university I consider self understanding and awareness the most important. It allows the individual to find their best fit
